We have heard stories about Japan and their Culture (dont confuse - TopicsExpress

We have heard stories about Japan and their Culture (dont confuse religion and ethics with Culture) through various travelogues. Keeping aside the genuineness, I developed a sense of love for the Japanese! One of my favorites that touched me: An Indian in Japan saw a basket full of apples kept in the roadside without a seller. There was another basket alongside the apple basket where people dropped money for the apples they took. The puzzled Indian approached a man - Whose shop is this? Wheres the seller? He has other jobs. He would be working somewhere else. Hell come back in the evening to collect the baskets. ....but how come a shop without a seller? What if anyone takes the apple without paying? what if they take the money? The Japanese was baffled now. With the innocence of a child, he replied - But why would anyone take it? Its not theirs! Adhavadhu avanuku apdi yosikkavae terila. Idhaan ya culture. We keep boasting about our vast, varied, great Indian culture, religious texts and all... Okay. So why didnt we take them seriously? When will we put them to use? That mans morality was involuntary, imbibed by him! Padichtu idha oru scenea yosicha, ppaah goosebumps. Ipdilam kuda iruppangala nu. Maybe their Gods are cultured enough! Maybe we should stop fighting over Gods, Religion and think about the culture were gonna pass on to the next generation. We say good people. We say bad. And then, there is the Japanese! Theedhum nandrum pirar thara vaara.
