We have high pressure sitting over the Midwest. This will slowly - TopicsExpress

We have high pressure sitting over the Midwest. This will slowly build in over the weekend. So with the high pressure we will see a stretch of comfortable and dry air. The vast majority of us will see a nice dry day, but a little upper level disturbance will get close enough out of the north and west, that there is a slight chance for a shower in the afternoon across New York State, northern Pennsylvania, and northern New England. There could also be showers over the Catskills down into the Poconos after this afternoon and evening. I cant rule out a few stray showers over southern New England. Radar does show a few popup showers around Central New York. Tomorrow will be a nice day as well. The area of high pressure will slide east of the region during the day Saturday. This will allow a southwesterly flow to setup bringing back in the warmer air and humidity, but right now it doesnt look to be as oppressive as what we have seen. With that said, southern Pennsylvania and the Mid Atlantic will get a taste of muggy air. The weekend will see a chance for a few showers or thunderstorm over New York State and Pennsylvania, of the two, Sunday is the most likely, but nothing widespread is expected. A stray shower could creep into western New England on Sunday. This weekend I will also be tracking an area of low pressure that will develop off the Mid-Atlantic coastline. This would then track north and east heading for the Canadian Maritimes. It could track close enough to kick off some rain showers for eastern New England......but for now at least, the bulk of the storm will remain offshore. A cold front will drop in from the north on Wednesday bringing with it the chance for showers and thunderstorms. The approaching cold front will keep it a bit unsettled Monday - Wednesday.
