We learned of the Irish Famine ......such a tragedy. Almost 2 million people died. The worst part was that there was enough food to feed the country but the Land lords made more money sending the food abroad. If someone was caught stealing food for their children they were sent off on prison ships to Australia, never to see their families again. In Ireland the famine is more described as genocide. The grief in the area was overwhelming, even to this very day!
