We took Darktanions last purebred foal, Lessa, to her very first schooling show yesterday! 5 months old and absolutely wonderfully behaved!! Lessa too 2nd in the non arab mare (open mare) class, placing under Denas FABULOUS QH mare, Marke, who was handled by the adorable Tatianne participating in her very first show!! Then Lessa moved onto the Champion Class (all 1st and 2nd place horses from all the non arab halter classes up against each other regardless of gender). It was a double judge show so every class had scores from 2 judges. So, in the champion class, Lessa took 3rd under one judge and 4th under the other.... against all the non arab horses of all ages presented in Halter... proud? YOU BET!!! Later on, we did Sport Horse In Hand with her. Little, 5 month old Lessa whom had only ever practiced the triangle once. I set her up for the judge the see conformation. Through gasps and oh wows (nope, not joking. There was quite a bit of that), I heard feedback like beautiful head, exceptional neck, stunning tie in, exquisite forearm and scapula ratios, superb loin, magnificent hocks and so on. Out of a class of 5 or 6 (cant recall now), Lessa took 3rd. For her first time out and for being just 5 months old? I was THRILLED! We schooled a bit on the trail course, with permission, and Lessa had loads of fun playing with the slicker. LOL!! And, of course, shes started getting a fan club of her very own. Like father, like daughter. ;-) All in all, with all the bumps along the road, it was a heck of a way to finish out the show season!! Proud doesnt begin to tell how I feel about my girl!! It was a super long day but oh so awesome. ;-)
