We usually rescue reserve dogs and have a few from owner surrenders ,but this story touched our hearts ...and its a story of how a handful of strangers from all over the world came together to save one sweet scared Otterhound dog named Marley... I got a text at 12:15 am , over 2 months ago..asking if I can help a dog named Marley in a highkill shelter in California, called Carson County Pound...this ladies name is Jenn from Brandon. She sends me the pic of a very scared and her poor body was so bald and she was laying on a cement floor of this kill shelter...so I commented on the pic and another wonderful lady by the name of Karen from Picklepants rescue said she would do what she could to pull this sweet Marley..she kept her promise and got her out and into foster..but because of Marleys aweful condition, she couldnt leave the country..so with some kind donors to get her vetted in the states to get her treated for the balding and get her vaccines..then she comes to Wpg a few days ago , with our Picklepants rescue friend Karen to meet us in Winnipeg! When she is at Plessis Vet to be spayed, we find out she has mammory gland cancer and her teeth have roots exposed on 9 teeth from her chewing at the cage at the shelter in the states..so they had to be pulled..and the cancer removed and spayed..her vet bills are high and if anyone can donate to Marleys vet bill, you can call Plessis Vet or drop by and donate to her ! And our new friend Connie , also kept us focused on getting Marley to Wpg and offered to help get her here...one sweet dog,that was dumped at the highkill shelter ,because the owners were moving and didnt take her with them.. ended up in Winnipeg under us...this is a TRUE MIRACLE!
