Wednesday of Jesus’ last week found Him again engaged with people in and around the Temple. He spent considerable effort endeavoring to convince the religious leaders of their hypocrisy. If as a role model you don’t talk and walk consistently, then you can expect harsh judgment. He chatted with His disciples about the end times, pointing out that no one knows when either his/her personal end or the final dissolution of earth will happen. He said that there are signs all around us in order to keep us focused on matters of faith and life, but we are wise to keep those who attempt to predict dates and times at arm’s length and even wiser to stay prepared by faithfully performing our duty and lovingly caring for the least among us. While all this good work was going on in the marketplace, behind closed doors others including Judas were putting the final pieces together to bring Jesus down. They were hectic last days, but Jesus was totally in control and He is today and every tomorrow. Pastor S
