Well, good news! I talked with my surgeon yesterday, and all the tests taken came back negative (i.e. no genetic factors playing a part in the cancer they found), which means that no surgery is indeed necessary. Hurray! Now its just close monitoring for the next several years. In addition to all of the constant love and support from my amazing family and friends, I would like to give a special shout out to my NU roommate, Betty Hou, now a doctor and surgeon herself, who gave me lots of great education and a second opinion, and to Gailla Deiters, my colon hydrotherapist, who backed me up (and insisted I get checked), and played a major part in getting the cancer found, detected and removed, and from whom I will continue to be monitored on a regular basis. :) HUGE LOVE to both of you, and to ALL of YOU, who have given me so much love and support!!!
