Well it seems it is finally starting to slow down after the summer madness of up to 60 calls a day. We will be using this winter to fundraise and renovate - ready to start the mad rush again next spring.. We are still receiving plenty of calls at the moment however, and have lots of animals coming in. Surprisingly we are still getting calls about aerial feeders, and after we thought we had released them all for the year, we have had three house martins come in this week. Continuing our Tawny Owl trend, another Tawny arrived during the week after bouncing off someones windscreen. Hes got a nasty concussion and is still requiring hand feeding but should pull round nicely. Weve also had a mixture of other birds, from seagulls to pheasants, blackbirds, crows and as usual, plenty of pigeons arriving - it seems there is a lot of canker around at the moment.
