Well, my Zuzzy shipment finally arrived. I made the order on 9 April, arrived on Thu/Fri this week! Firstly, DO NOT ORDER FROM ZUZZY UNLESS YOU CAN GIVE UP ON IT EVER ARRIVING! They have answered none of my emails and due to life issues I missed the deadline to dispute the paypal transaction. They tried to make up for it by sending an extra 11x14 section of the mats and an extra hollow giant tree stump, but their postage to Australia was incredible (it equalled the cost of the products, about $160 all up). Now, though, on to the stuff itself. The texture is great. These will be my Warzone 4x4 Venusian Jungle and Martian Rust Desert tables. They were the Scourged Forest (Jungle) and Sulfur Fields (Desert). The mats themselves are quite thin and therefore behave like cloth (think the old citadel gaming mats). The texture is soft enough and flat enough not to interfere with the placement of terrain. Ive heard that you have to keep the paint quite thin, and Im keeping them with the foam wrap so that the surface is protected. Ive also heard that they have a bad smell... well, they are latex so they smell vaguely like a hospital mixed with something earthy, but its not overpowering and my pregnant (therefore highly sensitive) wife hasnt made any comment thus far. Ive taken a shot of the scale minis on the small desert section to show the texture. Ill be painting the lava flow sections as dust deposits to make it less volcanic and more desert. Both mats come with a small scrap of the same texture so you can practice the paint scheme. I also bought the giant Tree stumps and Tree stumps sets, these are cast in hard resin and look the goods! You can see the WZR Ronin Samurai and Undead Legionnaire for scale. Ill be adding a lot of extra aquarium plants and some giant trees to round out this table. The Desert Table will get some rock spires, and I was planning on using a Kickstarter MDF set of buildings to make an outpost (https://kickstarter/projects/burnindesignsceo/the-skyway-project-gaming-at-a-higher-level, Landing Party pledge). I was going to put those into the Jungle table, but I might make it so that they can be used for either, but will go with the Desert table.
