Well sunday morning. Sun on our breakfast table, and earth warrior - TopicsExpress

Well sunday morning. Sun on our breakfast table, and earth warrior is making its rounds again....and again...and again...:p I now first sorted out the sound settings on our DVD player. Normally i have the loudness on, cause most cds need that punch of base. Not earth warrior. Once i set the sound to its most basic setting it sounds SOO much better. Steve already mentioned once that they dont record and mix like most bands. And it is all to clear with this cd. The mix and production of it it so well done that any added settings do more harm then make it better. They actually ruin the sound. So we now have to stettings on the DVD. The clean Omnia setting....And the amplified other cds one :-) Somewhere else it was mentioned that the last cd of a band is always its best. I dont agree with that. With most bands after a couple of cds the magic slowly fades. They just run out of ideas. Only a selected few manage to re-invent themselves time and time again. To stay fresh and relevant. Without losing their basic sound. And that is what i admire about Omnia. The new influences are the reggae, the 70 rock, a bit of 20 jazz (read Mutant Monkey, that kazoo there makes me smile every time by the way. So funny.),and some native american stuff as well...but it still has that Omnia sauce over it. Well enough about the music now. i don;t want the risk of them..Walking next to their shoes *) literal translation for a dutch saying about getting cocky; naast je schoenen gaan lopen :-) There is also the booklet texts artwork and lyrics. Beforehand i was a bit afraid that it would all be a bit negative and fight/warrior orientated. But seeing the whole package its not. I think steve chose his words really well in the introduction. That we all have to do what is in our own capabality to make the earth a better place. From our own talents. And that is a mesage i can relate to without any hesitation. Thank for that Stenny...(And Robhyd to off course :-) ) Then the artwork itself. Fieke van den Hurk did a marvellous job blending the pictures and drawings together. Especially the Epona and Triceltica page look really beautiful. Make those poster size and i would buy them straight away. I wonder if that small birdy on Free bird fly is one of the adoption birds you had last year? So to put the whole package in two words...WELL DONE!!!
