Well that’s a new one. I never heard that before. I just got back from the Ticket to Ride show having been stopped by a guest on Promenade deck asking where the lost and found was. I told her it was at the Guest Services Desk and asked her what she had lost. She replied and I quote “ my fanny pack.” I started at her “your what” I asked again “my fanny pack, a blue one. I left it I think at the Jeeves Bar during Karaoke.” I tried not to smile or indeed laugh and used my ship’s cell phone and asked if there had been a blue fanny pack handed in. There had, a bar waiter had brought it to the desk. The lady was happy I was confused My much missed Dad always said that American was slowly overtaking “proper” English. Well Dad, as I look up at the Canadian sky tonight to talk to you I am sorry to say it’s not slowly overtaking ……it’s here…….and has overtaken proper English like a race between an Lamborghini Aventador and a three-legged heavily constipated yak. You see ladies and gentlemen in proper English the word “ fanny” means ummm………..ummmm…………..lady garden. Yep, she had lost her lady garden pack. Oh FFS, how the Empire has fallen
