Well todays the day. Belt test starts tonight at 1800. Im ready, or at least as ready as Im going to be for this test. I was reminded of a very important fact last night; all the people I use as role models for my training were actually putting in 6-8 hours a day when they were learning Koba-ryu. I have 4-5 hours a week in the dojo on a good week. Those of us who have jobs and families; it is going to take a while longer for us to get better and we must be patient. The martial arts is not about instant success, but more about the journey we take to better ourselves through it. In the end regardless of where we end up, we are all better people for having the courage to even attempt it. I am merely thankful to be able to participate in such a great style that really pushes us to improve and better ourselves each day. All our master expects is for us to get better and to try our hardest. There is no demand for perfection, just effort and hard work and that is what leads to character building, making us better people. Good luck tonight to everyone that is testing for their next rank. Remember that this is one step in a lifetime journey.
