Well we have not posted in a few days. We have been enjoying - TopicsExpress

Well we have not posted in a few days. We have been enjoying spending time with our 3 wonderful children. Yesterday was bitter sweet as had to send our children back to Dothan. Our prayer is to soon be out of the BMT unit and back in Dothan. Dons counts have continued to drop. Praise The LORD!!!!! The lower the counts the better. Today his WBC is at 0.04. Even though his counts are where they need to be, it makes Don feel awful. Last night he had to have pain meds to get through the night and do several swishes with what they call magic mouth wash. Today he has ulcers in his mouth and throat. In his words he feels like he has been hit by a truck. Even though he feels bad you would not know it. He is up sitting in a chair , has a smile on his face and still says he going to walk. He was able to eat some grits and drink a little bit of juice. Scripture this morning was found in 2Corinthians 7:6. (God who comforts the downcast; comforted us......) this is a portion of the scripture. In this scripture Paul talked about the arrival to Macedonia- there was lots of conflict in every direction ( battles on the outside and fear on the inside). Conflict of any kind causes reactions. Just like then we all face conflicts in our lives( death, sickness, unfaithfulness , disagreements with others, etc). Whether we are believers in Christ or non-believers we can find ourselves discouraged by the disappointments and tragedies that occur in our lives. However, if you know Jesus then you have every reason to live courageously through our conflicts. The next time we fill our courage tested, we can lean on Gods promises. ( He will never leave you or forsake you.) We are never alone as we work through lifes conflicts. I know this personally. I have had many moments over the past several years where I have had to work through disappointments and God was always there to help me through. The times I felt so alone and discouraged were the times that Karla let go of my fathers had and tried to walk it alone. So thankful that his hand was always extended. God is always near and he will be our protection and deliverer. So when conflicts arise and cause us to be fearful or worry simple call upon God and except his touch. This morning I had a quote in my devotional by Corrie Ten Boon. (Jesus did not promise to change circumstances around us. He promised great peace and pure joy to those who would learn to believe that God actually controls all things.) When I read it I simply said WOW! Wouldnt it be great if we all remember that God is with us during our mountain top and valley experiences. God simple waits for us to take his hand and trust him. I would have had less heartache if I had done that. So thankful today for a heavenly father who loves me and for the peace he brings as I trust him during the rough times in my life. Thank you for all the continues prayers and calls. We miss everyone back home, especially our children.
