Well week 14 has now been and gone with some surprising results all around the felt topped venues: Crown Hotel visited the Railway Hotel this week to take on their #2 side and knowing that without their Stuart clan it was going to be a hard task against Luth & Curlys resurgent team. The Crowns fill-in photographer, nurse, supporter, taxi driver and Wam Bam Shane Coleiro s better half May Greenaway played very well in only her 2nd visit to the Leagues tables and was very unlucky in not putting a win to her name, With once again another last game decider Crown just edged out the points from under Rail 2s cues, Shane, Macca and Davo won 3 games each for Crown with Curly as always The Solid Rock for Rail with able assistance from Stan and Simon Suchodolskiy. Crown won 9 games to 7. In what was the upset of the round Blake Outens crew Shamrock 1 defeated Peter Roxy Thomass Animals from Five Flags and moved up to 6th spot on the ladder, after getting their Mojo back last week it dissipated just as quick this round which must have all The Flagons 2 side shaking their heads as they move back down to 4th position. Shamrock 2 won 9 games to 7. The Flaggettes travelled South this week to Kyneton to take on Shamrock 2 which was always going to be a gargantuan task even with VP Bradley Dawson back into the side, The Shammy 2 boys are cruising along in the top 4 and seem intent to stay there with a 12 games to 4 victory, Adrian Harvey & Brendan Dubens won 3 each, with Adrian potting the 17th 7 ball win this season and Josh Jolly winning 4 games for Sham 2. They once again slip past Flags 2 and go into 3rd place on the ladder a game behind Crown Hotel. The Derby match this week was played between Comma 1 & Comma 2 at the Roundabout venue in Castlemaine, And with Comma 1 determined to make up for lost time they pounced on their other side in the 1st 2 rounds to make sure they could safely bank the points this week, with the old adage Practice makes perfect it is starting to show with the leagues youngest member 12 year old Travis Timmermans winning 3 of his 4 games against some very experienced league members and new player Wayne Stephens winning 2 from 2. Comma 2 had Des Ol Yella Carroll and Tony Lizard Lizzil stand up as usual. Comma 1 won 10 games to 6. Railway 1 came with their Cues ready to fire this week against ladder leaders Albion 1 but once the dust had settled the look of despair as they trudged back over the lines homeward bound showed it all as Burgo, Shaggers, Iceman and Betty Boo displayed the reason they sit atop of the Leagues Ladder and convincingly won 12 games to 4. In the final match of the Week 14 games played on Wednesday at Redhill Hotel, Albion 2 were out to show that they could compete against all teams above and Adam Pratts Redhill side had to pull out all the chalks to steady themselves and kept the match to a draw 8 all splitting the points, which kept them still within striking distance of 4th spot, Father/Son combination Bob & Adam Pratt won 3 each for Redhill and Scott Male won 3 for Albion 2.
