Went for a walk today to Mushan Village. Rice fields, farmland, old hutong courtyard homes either falling apart or incorporated with new taller homes. With fish ponds, they have everything they need to sustain themselves: vegis, protein. With the tourist boom and motoring people up and down their rivers, they are doing well. They are much more wealthy than the storytelling village with paved roads and walkways throughout their village. Still most of the work is man without machines.
