Were sad to inform you of the death of Captain Scarlet. Actor Francis Matthews who played the voice of the original 1960s TV hero has died at the age of 86. Gerry Anderson originally chose Francis for the role because his voice was similar to Cary Grant. Francis Matthews had a very long and varied acting career and is perhaps best known internationally from his role in FOLLOW ME a BBC series from the late 70s that taught English to the world! In the 1980s the series was sold to many international TV stations and worldwide though the new Home Video formats. One Peccadillo staff member had the pleasure of working on the reversioning of the series with fond memories of Francis Matthews and one particular song called Wheres Bob?
