West Virginia Mission Trip if you are interested. Notes from the meeting. Bradshaw, WV is the 2nd poorest community in the US! High unemployment, drug use, illiteracy. We will be going to remote coal fields of West Virginia, tiny roads with a cargo van and passenger van. Partnering with Little Sparrow Ministries. Needs for socks and underwear for kids ages 2-18. Their library flooded earlier this year and ruined alot of their books. So they are in need of books, any kind of books other than Theology. October 2-5th $300 for the trip covers training book, food, lodging, transportation. We will be staying in the Missionary Dorms. This trip is OPEN TO ANYONE who is interested in doing missions, you do not have to be a member of our church (First Baptist Church of Woodstock). Friday is our Love Loud Project. Delivering lunches to homes in the holler that go without meals. Looking to help with the fire station or library or paint the outside of Little Sparrow Ministries. Yet to be determined. We will be helping with a food trailer selling hot dogs, soda, chips... from 11-3p at their Fall Festival on Saturday. We will be giving out eyeglasses, not prescription. Meetings are from 3p-5p July 20th & 27th, Aug 10 & 17, Sept 7 & 21st. We have 9 people right now to go, are looking to take about 15. We will need a Prayer Captain, Food Prep Leader, Events Coordinator and Treasurer. Also someone to drive the cargo van as David will drive the passenger van. Prayer partners are required, cant do this without them! Support is due by the end of August. What do you think? Applications are due by next week.
