We’ve been fighting a proposal for a pig factory in Foston for - TopicsExpress

We’ve been fighting a proposal for a pig factory in Foston for five years now. If it’s approved, it would hold 25,000 pigs at any one time. Research shows that the levels of disease and the use of antibiotics both increase as numbers of animals increase, posing a risk to human health. Back in February it looked as if a decision on the proposal was imminent, but the Council had to give a further six month extension to Midland Pig Producers to allow them to respond to objections from the Environment Agency… So far we’ve had support from the 38,000 of you who have sent a clear message to Derbyshire County Council telling them you don’t want a huge, US-style intensive pig farm in Foston, but continuing to support this campaign couldn’t be more important than it is now. The last public consultation closes in a week’s time, so follow the link below and sign the letter to support our Not in My Banger campaign! Thank you!
