What A Helper, Marriage & Family “She shall be called Woman, - TopicsExpress

What A Helper, Marriage & Family “She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Genesis 2:23 Genesis 2:18; 1 Corinthians 11:8-9 You’ve heard this before, but it needs to be said again. Whose idea was it to make Eve…and Adam, for that matter? Whose idea was it to bring these two people together? This was all God’s idea. We need to keep that in the front of our thinking, because God’s never had a bad idea yet. Marriage is a terrific idea! We just need to do it God’s way. I want to concentrate on Genesis 2:18 today because it’s absolutely basic to male/female relationship, and yet it’s where we start getting off track. Notice that God calls the woman a helper…and that’s before she’s even around. That wasn’t an afterthought on His part. Okay? This word “helper’ means one brought alongside to assist. My male friends, God has given a woman one basic responsibility in marriage…to help. You, bear the primary responsibility for the home. When Eve ate the forbidden fruit, what did God say? “Adam, where are you?” (see 3:9). Adam had to answer for the breakdown. See, a woman was never meant to bear the burden. She was meant to help the man bear the burden. You say, “Come on, David. Tell me something new.” Yes, this is foundational stuff, but evidently it’s not getting off the page and into Christian marriages very well. I happen to believe that one of the major problems we have today is that we men are overloading our wives’ circuits. That’s a cataclysmic mistake, because when that happens, ain’t no one havin’ any fun! A woman is the best helper God ever designed, but you can’t go messing with His plan and hope to pull it off. I thank God for the way Christian men are starting to come forward and accept the responsibility…and find the joy…of being a lover and leader to their wives, of affirming and supporting and providing for them. When we do it God’s way, let me tell you, something wonderful happens. Why? Because the woman was made to be a helper “suitable” to the man, someone necessary to complete and fulfill him. I give that one a big Amen!! Whenever a man says, “I have achieved this,” he ought to add, “because I have someone at home who has helped me.” Posted by David Coleman of The DC Ministry “Sharing The Gospel.”
