What I find most troubling about the Trayvon Martin case is that if it was the exact same situation, but both of them had been the same color, it would never have even made the news. And if it did, a little blurb in the city it happened. But a 17 year old boy would still be dead, but the difference is, no one would care. Maybe a whisper of public outcry. Maybe. Where’s the public screaming for justice when children of every color are gunned down in this country everyday? As a society, we seem to place our moral outrage for what the media tells us to. Take a moment to think not just of Trayvon and his family, but of all the kids that are abused and murdered. Not just in this country, but all over the world. Don’t they deserve to be remembered and fought for as well?
