What I saw Yesterday is so amazing. I happened to attend the send off party for our Burundi colleagues who have just accomplished their Mission here and the Church service proved alot about Gods mysterious ways alongside His everlasting Love for humanity no matter what the status. I imagine this, the Church is filled up with all categories of brave soldiers, from lower to the top ranks, all dressed in green camouflage( Madowadowa) but the humbleness on their faces looks so miraculous. Its a Catholic Church so when the priest comes in, all rise and this heartbreaking hymn is played, the piano being played by a young man, a humble but sharp looking soldier and the choir members all in green combat are singing like the Holy spirit has ignored the fact that they are fighters on the other hand. No machine guns in Church must be some kind of rule unwritten any where. Am in my Kaki too and am loving everything. As the readings and the Gospel are being read the detective in me betrays me, am tempted to check on the Rev. Fathers shoes, trying hard to penetrate through so as to see which king of panti. Hahahahah, my God, I felt like am being lifted to heaven in my Kaki. The green Camouflage comes again right from under the Rev. Fathers usual priests cloth, tucked in His black shoes. I keep looking every time He kneels down. So He is a soldier too. All through the Sermon we are laughing and almost forgotten that we are in the land where Christianity sounds a taboo. The mass has ended and now we meet the Father outside, oh my God, Burundi is just blessed. God bless our brothers who just accomplished Gods work and may He grant them all the journey mercies back to Bujumbura. Thanks too to Cpt. Rénovat Nimpagaritse who did everything to get us there.
