What Programming is Really Like: Lets say you are programming a robot to go fill up your car with gas. You tell him to put the gas cap key in his pocket, drive to Petrol Hut, unlock the gas cap, pump the gas, pay, and drive back. Its not working and you spend a week sending him over and over and watching everything until you finally discover that you told him to put the key in his pocket, but you told him to look for it in his OTHER pocket. It was perfectly obvious the whole time, but you lacked the humility to admit to yourself that you are capable of that level of dumbassity.
