What a delightful evening! My friend Glenda K Jordan invited me to see Hugh Lauries Copper Bottom Tour at the Wortham Center. Mr. Laurie did not disappoint. He has put together a show which kept the audience in thrall for nearly three hours. Never a dull moment! He has found some of the best music of the past century, and some of the most accomplished musicians to perform it. No special effects. No Autotune. No pre-recorded sections (except a very funny segment when he and the performers leisurely enjoyed a drink, to Lounge Music.) Three well-earned encores, and deserved standing ovations.
