What a week!!!! As you know my oldest brother Mike has been living with me. He has esophageal Cancer with multiple spread sites. Lately his legs have gotten extremely weak to the point he cannot walk. He had an MRI Friday and we met with Dr Anderson, Radiation Oncologist. He showed us where tumor has grown into his spinal canal and suggested surgery to de-bulk tumor and decrease pain as well as strengthen his legs. Dr Hill performed surgery Saturday. Mike had a very rough Saturday with pain issues but is feeling better today. They have fit him with a special brace and started Physical Therapy. Mean while we had planned a huge Poker party for him at my place so most everyone came. We took turns visiting with Mike and just supporting one another. We had ups and downs all weekend! Mike feels better today and gets to do Therapy through Home Health once home. They had thought he would go to Spokane and stay at an inpatient physical therapy unit but none of this takes away the point that he still has esophageal cancer with multiple metastatic areas. We are just going to do our best, take one day at a time and love on each other. I love my family. Each one gives 100% and I do not know what I would do without them!!! God gave us all 8 siblings and we took this responsibility seriously. I love you all. We will see our brother Mike through this and enjoy all the love along the way.
