What a weekend ! Woke up from A long night in the ER Friday Morning... Went to work, ended up gladly agreeing to go to Anchorage to bring a casket that we had in stock here that was needed for a 10am Saturday service! Hotel, food and free gas cant go wrong right ! My friend went with so it wasnt a bad drive especially in the company new F350 truck! Thinking on the way down I love my new job, its wasnt about the pay (which is still good) but knowing I was going to work for someone who cares about people! Cares about helping people! We didnt need to make that extra trip we could of simply said we didnt have it in stock at the time which would of been the truth ! But my boss knew the family wanted this casket so off he sent me! We get to the funeral home in Anchorage n low n behold it was the wrong casket! Its 11pm n I call n tell my boss n what does he do! Go load up the right casket n takes off to Anch! Thats love for the people we take care. No additional costs to the family just pure kindness n compassionate care! I couldnt of been blessed with better friends/family to work for at Fairbanks Funeral Home/Chapel of Chimes Legacy Funeral Homes! Theres the saying you dont work a day if you love doing what you do! This job is a very rewarding job knowing you take care people regardless of anything with respect and care ! Amen to that :-). Be blessed !
