What an afternoon! Yesterday we accepted a foster for 2 of our doggies whom had just been rescued from a very critical situation...This foster was accepted against better judgement as she is associated with another group that we do not have an amicable relationship with...But the benefit of doubt was given and the dogs released this morning...Yesterday they were taken to Ras Al Khaimah Animal Welfare Centre along with 6 other dogs...The vet was asked to vaccinate them and test them for Ehrlichia..We also asked for a parvo and distemper test which wasnt available at the time...This is the basic first step treatment that is requested for any dogs that are just rescued..The plight of the dogs was posted on our fb and as with all rescues their condition was not good...When one offers to foster they cannot expect that the animals will be in perfect condition (because they never are), house trained etc...Particularly given the dogs had been with SOS for less than 24 hours...The dogs were collected this morning and subsequently taken to the vet...We then received and email to say that basically the dogs were only given basic vacs which we knew (the dr gave them 1st vacs with boosters due in 1 month), and that they had ringworm, ticks and needed dental work...We were told they were at a vet in Abu Dhabi and that they would be keeping the dogs! They were informed that no adoption had taken place and that the dogs are SOS doggies...After discrediting the work of the vet it then came to our attention that the dogs were at the very same vet that was being discredited not at a vet in Abu Dhabi...We were also told that they were brought in by a member of the very group who does not have an amicable relationship with SOS! So, not only were we lied too, but the doggies were taken back to the very same vet...We have since informed the vet that the dogs are only to be released to SOS...We can only summarize that after this debacle the intention is an attempt to discredit the valuable work we are doing...All we can say is to the people involved in this is you ought to be ashamed of yourselves...Trying to gain dogs through means of deception will always backfire when your intentions are not honorable....
