“What comes to you of good is from Allah , but what comes to you - TopicsExpress

“What comes to you of good is from Allah , but what comes to you of evil, [O man], is from yourself. And We have sent you, [O Muhammad], to the people as a messenger, and sufficient is Allah as Witness.” (4:79) All good that occurs in our life is from Allah and Allah alone, there is no good but the good that Allah provides. Even the blessing of us being Muslim, is from Allah and Allah alone. And with this blessing we are given so many others blessings, such as the race to good. Also in this verse, it is simply stated, the evil that exists on earth is due to the actions of men. When we go through things in our life, we look for someone to blame, and sometimes this ends up being God. But it is made clear, it is not Allah who has caused this but us in fact. This is a hard pill to swallow. This is tough love. Sometimes we will spend a day studying for a test, and although we know we haven’t study too much, we expect an “A”. When we don’t receive the “A” all of a sudden the teacher is mean, even though we got what what we worked for; but how hard is it to say, “I got this grade because I didn’t study”. When we are going through things in our lives, we are the cause of it, whether it be our self or another person. A good example of something evil that has plagued the world is racism/prejudice, which is 100% human created, God did not say who was better than who based on race. But sometimes we might find ourselves, questioning God, why have you made my skin darker in order that people treat me different? Or another example. “Why Allah have you made me ugly?” When it is not God who ordained that you were ugly or even made you ugly but people who have made you believe that you were created ugly. It is not God, it is people. It is not God who has oppressed people, but people who oppress people. This verse is a stop sign to the thought of blaming God for our problems.
