What do you do with a puppy when you get an amazingly naughty thing followed by an amazingly good thing?? (Besides laugh. To yourself, if possible.) I used a half a banana for my breakfast. Put the rest, unpeeled, way back on the counter to take care of in a minute, but knowing that Tess loves them, took care to put it FAR back. Now, I have trained this puppy to bring me stuff she picks up. If she picks up a rock in the yard, she brings it to me. If she picks up a plastic water bottle top, she brings it to me. Cookies. But yesterday, before going back to work in the kitchen, I sat down at the computer for a while. And you KNOW what she brought me. Yes, she got up on the counter, reached way back, and got the banana. And she brought it straight to me. The open end was a little squishier, and there was one dent in the skin that hadnt been there earlier, probably from an eyetooth. Otherwise, it was exactly as I had put it on the counter! Tess, what am I gonna do with you?????
