What do you guys think of this advertisement? Do you guys - TopicsExpress

What do you guys think of this advertisement? Do you guys think that saying, like a girl, contributes to the self-esteem dip that girls face during puberty? If we care about men, wouldnt it make sense to raise better women? If part of raising better women means addressing some of the self-esteem issues faced by girls, wouldnt it be beneficial to do away with the stereotypical gendered insult that reinforces tradcon gender roles? Femmies spin this insult, like a girl, and say that it is telling a girl that the worst possible thing that she can be is a girl, but I dont see it entirely that way. I see the insult as a way of reinforcing the cultural norms that make the male body the most culturally acceptable locus of violence. The insult is used primarily against guys who are not very valuable athletic-wise. If a boy is told that he fights/hits/throws like a girl, it means that he isnt valued as a man...and because hes not a woman, hes not valued as a woman either. As such, the boy is just plain old worthless. If a girl is told that she fights/hits/throws like a girl, it means that she isnt valued as a man either, but, assuming she identifies as a woman, she is still valued as a woman (or girl). As such, she isnt deemed worthless like the boy. https://youtube/watch?v=XjJQBjWYDTs
