What do you think? A local mum wonders . . . I was in a coffee shop with my two young children, when my 3yr old tripped over a phone recharger cord being used by a cafes employee on her break. The employee was sitting at an adjoining table and was utilising the nearest powerpoint. The cord was tightly pulled 10cm off the ground, causing a huge trip hazard. My daughter split her lip when she fell and has significant bruising down her side. While I was attending to her injuries the manager arranged food and drink for my family (as we had been walking to the counter to order & pay). When it was time for us to leave, he presented a bill. As you usually pay on ordering, I was wondering whether they would not charge us, considering the injuries my daughter had sustained were caused by their employee. The bill was only $30 and they are a large, busy business, so it would not have affected their bottom line. I paid without fuss, but I do wonder if other parents think the business should have asked us to pay?
