What does God DEMAND from us? Many of us might argue that God is Sovereign, all-powerful; so He might possess the nature to demand a lot of things from us; things like cooperation, submission, obedience and even love. This sounds good to the heart of shallow sight. But, what many of us forget while seeing God is that His very Self is Love; as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, They are/is Love. When Jesus healed 10 lepers, only one returned to thank Him and hence He responded as said in this verse John 17:17-18 17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But WHERE ARE THE NINE? 18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” This verse is falsely being used to justify that God Expects/demands thanks from us and so many of us have made it a routine to keep saying thank You Jesus like programmed machines. But, what is the Truth? Whatever Jesus did, was for the glory of the Father. Everything of/about Jesus was centered in His Father; and what Jesus is to the Father, He desires to share with us (we are sons of God, just as Jesus is the Son of God). When you are loved and you do not realize or understand the love, it really hurts the Lover! When the lepers were healed and did not understand Gods love, and hence didnt respond to God(thanks/praise-response to God), it hurts or bothers God because He wants you to know Him and His love for you. God is concerned about you all the time. Why was the Son of God sent? FOR YOU! for you to know Who the Father and Son is, and to perceive their Love just as They desire for you.
