Since that fateful day in May when her ear drums were blown out and inner ears damaged**, Lara has been counseled to back off and allow her body to heal. Facing cancelling a 2-year international tour after the release of her 2-CD set Le Secret, she tried to modify her schedule to allow healing time between concerts. And so it went for 5 months culminating in her trip to NY and to Canada. Recently returning to Europe she was presented the result of that decision from her specialists. Stop NOW or not only jeopardize your career, but your hearing.. And so.. For the ones closest to Lara, her new husband, for Lou her daughter, who has had to whisper to her mommy for way too long, and for Lara herself.. she will stop. From those who do not know Lara and hold tickets, and reservations there is great anger. From those who have followed her life, her ups and her downs, sought to understand her writings, took comfort from her compositions, sat intently by when she spoke of life and of love since the 90s and before, there is love and immense support for her as she steps out of the light into the shadows. ** May 2013: a sound technician in a tv studio flipped a toggle switch and fed a high intensity test signal directly into Laras ears through her ear monitors.
