What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one - TopicsExpress

What is the outcome then, brethren? When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. If anyone speaks in a tongue, it should be by two or at the most three, and each in turn, and one must interpret; but if there is no interpreter, he must keep silent in the church; and let him speak to himself and to God. Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others pass judgment. But if a revelation is made to another who is seated, the first one must keep silent. 1 Corinthians 14:26-30 (NASB) We need to do everything done in a service must be edifying to the body. Each individual needs to consider they are a part of the service and be a participant. Being a participant does not mean you have to speak in tongues or interpret, it may mean you are to interact with the worship with singing, praise, and listening. Only so many people can contribute with special singing, preaching, and the exercising of Spiritual gifts. Contributions to the service may be made by singing, reading, praying, playing an instrument and giving. Each must be done with love as their primary motive. We are to prepare for worship service even before we arrive. We should enter worship service ready to worship the Lord. We should not have to warm up after we arrive at church to worship. We should enter His courts with praise in our hearts. Psalm 100:4: Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. It is when we have come prepared to worship that the Holy Spirit can flow freely though the service. We should not have to be worked up by the worship leader or pastor. We should come ready to participate and give God praise and honor. If we being obedient to the Holy Spirit there should be no confusion as each participant will be obedient to the direction of the Spirit. We must not speak just because we want to be in our own two cents. We should speak only when directed by the Spirit. We should not be coached to speak by church leaders, but allow the Spirit to direct our gifts. If you are being led by the Spirit wait for the appropriate moment and don’t interrupt anyone else who may be speaking. Paul has given us a guideline that no more than two or three should speak within the service. This does not forbid corporate prayer which may be either in your prayer language or in your own tongue. Prayer languages should be controlled for appropriate times.
