What treatment has the strongest evidence base for the treatment of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)? Prolonged Exposure Therapy, a form of CBT. In terms of number of high-quality, well-controlled studies, most would agree that it is PE or prolonged exposure. There are other treatments with strong empirical support such as Cognitive Processing Therapy, another form of CBT.
