Whats new: *We have started the immunization process. We will have to go back a few times to get everything done but they were troopers! We had no idea what to expect - if they would freak out or what. They sat very still, didnt even flinch! And, afterwards we got ice cream. Bycroft house rule - if you get shots, you get ice cream. Not if youre good - just if you get shots. Over the years there have been certain Bycroft children who were - oh, say *not so good* while getting shots! To the point of having to hold them down even. But alas - ice cream still happens. Thats just how we roll around here! R&J did, however enjoy the attention after the fact. We gave them the chewable Tylenol for pain (which they did need at first) but would still be taking it if I let them get away with it! *The vocabulary is really coming along very well; some common mistakes are butterfly/flower, cracker/cookie, and our current fav cartoon - Lord, help me - is PanG-e-ba = Spongebob! Oy! *We are looking forward to more snow! After a few days of just flakes falling this morning they were excited to see Big snow!! Ya, they have no idea what big snow really is - its coming, guys! *Tomorrow is a big day for everyone! School :) They have been asking, and asking, and asking, and ASKING when they can go so we have finally made arrangements for them to start *half days* tomorrow. They are really excited and I suppose I am too.. Just love watching them discover their new world and cant wait to hear how the rest comes to play. *Everyone at home has mostly settled in with the extra new humans that live here :) our 4 big kids have been troopers through this transition and have made plenty of sacrifices as well in order to include new siblings in to our home. For that, we are grateful! We have eased graciously into our new normal and I would like to think we would all agree that this adoption gig is pretty stinking cool. Again, not for *every *single family but I think many underestimate what God can accomplish through His people. As you move throughout this Christmas season think about doing for one (or maybe even two!) what you wish you could do for all. Where is God directing your heart, your energy, ambition? Do something.
