When I was a freshman, I took French II with an entire class of Putnam High School sophomores. As a youngster sitting among such an elite group, I knew that I had to perform a higher level to keep up with them. I took it as a challenge. The same holds true for a young high school athlete. If he or she is good enough and willing to work hard enough, they should get the opportunity to play alongside the "big boys" or the "big girls."
