When I was born, I became the littlesister to 3 brothers and 1 sister. One of the brothers was ISMO LAAKSO, who left Tärendö to make his own living at the age of 14 years at a farm in Tidan Västergötland and later, still very young, he became a seaman and wrote letters to mother from different ports in the big world. While on vaccation at his grandmothers (mummu) place in Mustiala South Finland, he met a beautiful girl with long curly red hair, Sinikka, and they married each other in the Spring of 1954. Gretha, Hans and me attended their great wedding at Sinkkkas parents place, Vieremä, outsida Forssa. Harri there first child was born and Ismo, who still was a sailor, bought a very nice baby carriage/lastenvaunu, for his babyboy Harri while on port in Holland and mother received many very cute pictures of curlhaired Harri, sitting in his nice Hollandish barnvagn/ lapsenvaunu/ baby carriage, and later after Harri was born he settled down in Finland on shore so to say, to allways be near his family and not far away on the sea as a sailor in the big world. Ismo has allways been very much a gentleman I must say, helpful and caring, very much nice memories from the past we have in our family of Ismo, our Finnish big brother! HE LEFT HIS WIFE SINIKKA AND 2 GROWNUP SONS, HARRI AND HANNU AND THEIR FAMILIES, BLESS YOU ALL!
