When I was younger - in junior high school and in high school, I wasnt practicing Islam like I am now (alhamdulilah). But the one thing I always had was fear and respect for my parents specifically for my dad. I was always scared to disappoint my dad so that always kept me in place. Although I know we should respect and fear Allah I was thankful that I had that fear and respect for my dad because if I didnt care it wouldnt have went to well with all the peer pressure around at the time. I always thank Allah (swt) for the way my parents raised us because it is something my siblings and I all have. It truly was a blessing without me even realizing it. InshaAllah I always make my parents proud and inshaAllah that will make Allah (swt) content with me. May Allah (swt) protect them and grant them both healthy and long lives inshaAllah!
