When I’m in contest prep season my cardio often gets very tough, and some days I actually feel a bit scared about the workout I have to go through. I have to psych myself up to not think like a victim who has to endure the cardio, but rather I have to create the attitude that I am attacking the cardio, and at the end I will feel good and be stronger, and next time it will be easier. A lot of people say that the hardest part of fitness is getting started. And a big part of that is fear. Fear of change and fear of leaving behind their easy, familiar life. Always remember that the most painful thing is the expectation of whats going to happen. It never turns out to be as bad as you imagine it in your head. So that fear that holds you back from doing something is a liar. You shouldnt believe it and you shouldnt let it affect your decisions. Youll still feel it, but just jump in and do what you have to do anyway! Thats why the Navy SEALs say The only easy day was yesterday, once its done, you can look back and say it was easy! - Gloria.
