When the Israelites rebel against God and plot to choose a leader to take them back to Egypt, God is determined to destroy the whole lot of them(Numbers 14). Numbers 14:29-31 In this wilderness your bodies will fall – EVERY ONE of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and WHO HAS REBELLED against me. NOT ONE OF YOU will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun. As for YOUR CHILDREN that you said would be taken as plunder, I will bring them in to enjoy the land you have rejected. When the Israelites had wandered around the desert for forty years and all those who were not meant to enter were dead, then the wandering was to end ; Deuteronomy 2:1-3 Then we turned back and set out towards the wilderness along the route to the Red Sea, as the Lord had directed me. For a long time we made our way around the hill country of Seir. Then the Lord said to me, ‘You have made your way around this hill country LONG ENOUGH ; NOW TURN NORTH! Now they were to TURN NORTH and head towards the promised land! Let it be noted that the LORD doesnt say to the Israelites you have wandered for TOO LONG, NO! But rather for LONG ENOUGH! LONG ENOUGH for those elements that were not fit to enter into the promised land to die! LONG ENOUGH to be pruned and rid of the rebellious regime and be left with only that which God would work with! Could it be mtshana that some of us wander at the borders and edges of our destiny for too long without TURNING NORTH? Well,its never LONG ENOUGH until those undesirable elements, things, habits, sin, behavious from our old nature are all gone. Sadly, for us most of these habits we can easily choose to get rid of ourselves! Do the right thing mtshana, decide its over with sin and quicken your LONG ENOUGH...Its time to TURN NORTH now!
