When you have been together with someone for a long time like for eight years, everything becomes a habit. Romance has faded into the same, old familiarity. Thrill and excitement have transformed into something mundane and trite, as though the things you do every day have resulted out of obligation and routines. So you go on about your life, naively believing that your universe is flawless and never for a second speculating that your life is not as picture perfect as it appears to be. Soon you realized that life is not just a jigsaw puzzle where the pieces finally fit together to form a picture. You once thought that the river of your life was stagnant and still and yet unbeknownst to you, a force of destiny was a catalyst and events were set in motion. Distance and time can shape your mindset and belief. You eventually comprehended that being in a long distance relationship is like dating a ghost. You know that it’s floating somewhere. In spite of the acknowledgement, you still can’t feel it, touch it, see it, hear it, taste it, and even smell it. But who would have blamed you because you could have not forecast the outcome and its expiration. Nevertheless, life has a strange way of working itself out. When a relationship is over, it does not mean that two people should go separate ways or even become strangers. The connection, bond, and mutual understanding brought you two closer than before and the aftermath was not what you expected, because that person has ultimately become your best friend who would always be there and love you no matter what happens.
