Come along to this 2-Day event which will gather together, islanders past and present, to reminisce and celebrate the unique culture and history of the islands. Islands included in this two day Gathering include the following four islands of Inis Fraoich, Rutland, Árainn Mhór and Inis Caorach. This event will be of interest to islanders, past and present, visitors to the area and those wishing to spend a day in the great outdoors! Timetable: Saturday 13 July 2013 10:00am ferry departing Burtonport for Inis Fraoich where Naul Mc Cole will guide visitors around the island and present the history of Inis Fraoich. 11:30 pm Depart Inis Fraoich for Burtonport. 12:00 Depart Burtonport for Rutland/Inis Mhic an Doirn. Bring packed lunch. 1:00pm Guide Manus Boyle will outline the island’s vibrant past and the landing of Napper Tandy. 4:00pm Depart Inis Mhic an Doirn for Árainn Mhór Visit An Chultúrlann and view Disaster Exhibition and Famine Pot, gifted to the island by the Society of Friends during the Great Hunger. 8:00pm Depart Árainn Mhór for Burtonport. Overnight accommodation can be arranged. Please contact organisers for information regarding accommodation. Sunday 14 July 2013 12:00pm Ferries depart Árainn Mhór & Burtonport for Inis Caorach. 1:00pm Remembrance Mass on Inis Caorach 2:00pm-3:00pm Street Céilí and Traditional Music 3:00pm Depart Inis Caorach for Árainn Mhór to buffet in an Chultúrlann where Árainn Mhór Pipe Band will be in attendance. 6:00pm-9:00pm Céilí and Old Time Singing & Dancing in Early’s. 10:00pm Depart Árainn Mhór For Burtonport.
