When you have heavy cleans, do you end up with bruised collar - TopicsExpress

When you have heavy cleans, do you end up with bruised collar bones? Thats the result of not meeting the barbell and letting it crash on you. Watch the video above, Deng Wei (-63kg, China) from World Championships cleans 142 kg/313 lbs. a few weeks ago. When Deng cleans the weight, she FINISHES the pull (and the barbell floats for a split second), and she AGGRESSIVELY PULLS her body down under the barbell. When she pulls under the barbell, she MEETS THE BAR where it is pulled, absorbs the weight, and rides it down to her rock bottom position. This is the ideal reception. In reality, many athletes will clean the weight, finish the pull and aggressively pull their body down to their rock bottom position - they go straight to their very bottom reception point and let the bar crash down on them (resulting in bruised collar bones). Save your collar bones - MEET THE BAR. #saveyourcollarbones #perfectpracticemakesperfect #crossfitweightlifting #crossfit @mikeburgener
