The statute of limitations on this crime needs to be changed to NONE. Once again, Ill state: if this behavior was identified as child abuse in 1970, when I was experiencing this (and until December, 1976), it is STILL CHILD ABUSE TODAY. GET A CLUE using anything but a hand to spank a bottom is ABUSE. And, excessive spanking IS ABUSE. You leave a mark, its ABUSE. There are far more effective methods of disciplining a child, especially a smart child. For example, we would alternate removing the video game controllers, or the unit itself, or the games, or the power cords. Push ups and sit ups work, too. Standing in a corner works. Banishing them to their rooms. Making them look up the laws they broke also work. One does NOT need to beat a child. EVER.
