Whether it was Hiuen Tsang or Fa Hein , there have been many seekers and travelers who came to India . Hundreds of millions are traveling for spiritual re-discovery the world over . Books are being written in hundreds . It is not being led by any religion or evangelist . Tao of Physics and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance along with many others were written after the 60s and became popular in the 80s . In India the kids hanging out on the Ghats , the rickshaw-wallahs , the odd sadhu (as in Swades) can teach you more than any text . In Hindu Nectar they are all there along with the westerners , the military correspondents , the miners , the students , the mediapeople who have just taken the road-less-traveled . In many traditions you have to take some time off to explore your spiritual self. It is a part of growing up. Modernity and Consumerism is about never growing up . Now there is no west or east , we are all west , or aspiring to be west . That is an acute imbalance in every ancient tradition of yin-yang , purush-prakriti .
