Whether you like Max Blumenthal or not is different matter, but he - TopicsExpress

Whether you like Max Blumenthal or not is different matter, but he is exactly right in his assessment that in Germany, the anti-Semistism charge is being used to shut down Israel critcism, and more than that, the anti-Semistism charge is used to silence the German Left party who is the only anti-imperialist party in Germany. It sure is the modus operandi of most Green Party members, and I have to assume of a big part of the Left party too, not to speak of the conservative parties, that critizing Israel is per definition anti-Semitic. I can confirm that and I have seen thate excat same phase being used in discussions to squelch any Israel criticism. I can also confirm that there is somehing called die Antideutschen (the anti-Germans), and they are supposedly a faction on the left that is anti-facist, but pro-Israel. I have no detailed knowledge on the anti-Germans in the Left party. I have learned of their existence only from links passed in FB discussions, but I can confirm that they indeed exist. What I can tell about the anti-Germans is that they are pro-Israel but they also pro NATO, pro-Ukraine, anti-Russian, and I have to assume that they are also Islamophobes. It is ironic that for a correct reporting on the incident that occured in the German parliament -- when spaeking events where Blumenthal and Sheen had been invited to by some Left party members were cancelled by the Left Partys boss, Gregor Gysi, on the grounds that Blumenthal and Sheen supposedly are anti-Semitic -- that one has to turn to an American TV channel to learn what really happened in the Bundestag. No German TV channel would ever report objectively on this incident like Abby Martin does on her show. What you get on German TV is that some American anti-Semites aggressively chased Gregor Gysi who reportedly headed for the toiletts for his own safety. The incident is now known on in Germany as Toilette Gate. What you wont hear on German TV is that Blumenthal and his journalist colleague from the Israeli newspaper Haaretz have a right to be upset, since they had been invited to Berlin, and then their speaking engagements were cancelled, and they were called anti-Semites and worse. It is understandable that they wanted to talk with Gysi, who then refused to meet them (presumably in order to avoid the embarrassement to meet with Israel critics), and it is also understandable that Blumenthal and Sheen were so upset that they followed Gysi through the corridors of the Bundestag, to press him to meet with them, even though Gysi resfused. Since Blumenthal and Sheen were not familiar with the Bundestag, they could not have known that Gysi retreated to the toiletts to get them off his back. So now, the incident is known in Germany as toilette gate and the Left party members who invited both Blumenthal and Sheen face the prospect of being expelled from the Left Party. Thanks to Navid for posting the link.
