Whew! I have ALMOST recuperated from my day of channeling Sandy. - TopicsExpress

Whew! I have ALMOST recuperated from my day of channeling Sandy. Since she is out of town, I took on a couple of things that she would normally do. So after taking care of a few personal errands this morning, I went to Fiesta health food store to sell t-shirts for two hours. Then I left and mailed 2 t-shirt packages out--yay! I went around town and collected money from our donation cans and did a bank deposit. Then I headed to one of our foster families to pick up Wilbur for his staple removal from his neuter. This lovely family lives about 25 minutes from me. Then I drove 20 minutes to a vet who would take the staples out. Next, I headed out to the boarding facility where we are fostering 4 dogs. It is a bit out of town to the south, about 12 miles down windy roads from Tractor Supply, where I stopped to pick up food (I was also delivering towels donated to my doorstep this afternoon). At the facility, I took a few minutes to talk to all our girls there--Emma, Hannah, Polly, and Luna. I introduced Wilbur to Emma through the gate of her kennel since they will be traveling together in two weeks! Next, I headed north of town to the foster family where Kenya is living so that Wilbur and Kenya--who will be cousins for life in Canada--could meet and play a little. That was a drive of about 35 minutes. Then I drove Wilbur back to his family--another 25 minute drive. I got home at 7:30pm--because I dont live another 45 minutes away like Sandy! Her day would have started at 7:30am with walking the dogs living at the vet and ended about 8:00pm! The amount of organizing and coordinating of vet appointments, dog at vet visits, dogs at boarding facility visits (where she usually spends a few hours), preliminary adoption applications e-mailed out, long adoption apps e-mailed out, references checked, dogs at foster families visits, purchase and delivery of hw/flea/tick meds to fosters and boarding facility dogs and reminders to me about my three fosters preventives, and just plain DRIVING is unbelievable. Thank you, Sandy, for the monumental work you do virtually every day. You are the heart and soul of this operation. And, just to prove that I was truly channeling Sandy, my comment about Wilbur was, I love this dog.
