Whew! It looks like we all survived Election 2014…the final votes were counted and we know who will be in the 70th Colorado General Assembly when it convenes on January 7, 2015. The Chambers will be split with the Republicans now controlling the Senate (18-17) and the Democrats maintaining control of the House (34-31). There will be new leadership in both the House and Senate, and we will see all new committee chairs in the Senate and several in the House. Both Governor John Hickenlooper and State Treasurer Walker Stapleton were reelected, and Cynthia Coffman and Wayne Williams were elected as Attorney General and Secretary of State, respectively.
