Whew! Its been a busy fall remodeling The Crows Nest, a little, - TopicsExpress

Whew! Its been a busy fall remodeling The Crows Nest, a little, neglected hunting cabin just up the hill from our house, into a vacation rental. From new driveway, drainage ditches, leveling (as much as possible), drywall repair, new ceiling and floor, stain outside and paint inside, water system moved inside, cracked wood stove replaced with gas heater, replaced appliances, new cabinets, queen sized beds in the two downstairs rooms, four singles in the loft, new quilts and blankets--its been a long haul. I combed the local thrift shops to outfit the kitchen. It has Direct TV, and a phone with limited service and Internet service will go in sometime this week. You can see what a beautiful job our contractor, Rob Trimble and his assistant, Dick Waters did. Its an amazing transformation. I just wish Id thought to take before pictures. Last Thursday night, I was up until 1:30 AM doing the finishing touches. Friday morning, our first renters moved in, one of the original owners who helped build the place, two of his friends, and their dog, Ginger. On opening day, they got two deer. Theyll be staying for a week. I think theyre snug and happy up there! Were hoping to rent it to hunters, birders, cross-country skiers, and writers--anyone looking to get away from it all. There are 75 acres to hunt on, MILES of maintained trails, a pond, and a million dollar view of the beautiful southern tier hills. And, of course, its pet friendly! So if youre looking for a place to rent for the rest of hunting season, or for a winter retreat, give us a call! 607-356-3154
