While it may be a challenge for grammar guardians to encounter contemporary slang, please remember that slang is part of what makes a language interesting and colorful. The word cool has been around for a long time as a slang word since at least the 1930s -- connected with jazz culture -- and it is still considered slang because of its association with musicians and youth culture. Never mind that my 81-year-old mother uses it! We can all bewail the deterioration of the language, but it would be tragic if we ruled out every neologism or colorful turn of phrase that sprang from somewhere other than our own minds. You dont have to like slang, but accepting the continual regeneration of the language is probably going to save you a lot of grief!
